Thank you for believing in what a group of dedicated people can do. We are so glad you’re with us.
We didn’t start in a boardroom; we started around a kitchen table. We were just a group of friends who saw neighbors in need and couldn’t look away. What began as pooling our own pocket change and resources to help through local crises became a lifelong passion.
Ladies 4 A Cause was founded from the hearts and hands of caring, generous women deeply rooted in community service. Many of its founders and leaders are devout members of the Colleyville Woman’s Club, whose longstanding philanthropic work inspired an even greater desire to respond when needs arise.
Over years of volunteering with nonprofits, community groups, churches, and school districts, these women repeatedly encountered individuals and families in crisis who fell just outside the scope of traditional assistance programs.
Recognizing a clear gap in services and equipped with strong relationships, experience, and resources they united to create an organization designed to bridge that gap and improve outcomes for those facing hardship.
After years of working together informally, Co-Executive Directors Juli Gerrard and Tammy Nakamura made the decision to formalize their efforts by establishing Ladies 4 A Cause as a nonprofit organization.
The organization is guided by a highly experienced Board of Directors composed of former nonprofit executives, civic leaders, and seasoned volunteers who bring deep expertise in governance, finance, and community-based service delivery.
Together, they are laying a strong foundation for a successful launch in 2026, grounded in transparency, accountability, and sustainable impact.
Ladies 4 A Cause has developed a comprehensive operational and financial plan to ensure long-term viability. Revenue generation will include individual membership levels, business participation, and grants aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
Strategic partnerships and community engagement will be key drivers of growth and impact. Seed funding from the Colleyville Woman’s Club, a trusted partner whose values closely align with the mission of Ladies 4 A Cause, will play a critical role in helping the organization successfully launch its first year of programming.
Programs will be guided by clearly defined procedures developed by the Board of Directors and informed by best practices in nonprofit service delivery.
Ladies 4 A Cause will work exclusively through established referral partners, with structured intake requirements to ensure that assistance is provided responsibly and equitably.
To maintain accountability and protect client dignity, no funds will be distributed directly to individuals. Instead, financial support will be paid directly to service providers, landlords, utility companies, or other vendors as appropriate.
In addition to monetary assistance, clients will receive non-monetary support through trusted partners, including local nonprofits, businesses, churches, and organizations such as the Colleyville Woman’s Club.
As our impact grew, so did our vision. To honor the trust our community placed in us, we formalized our mission as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Today, we are moving from a private effort to a public invitation - scaling our resources so that no one in our reach has to face a hardship alone.

We didn’t just decide to start a nonprofit yesterday. Our founding team represents decades of combined experience on the front lines of philanthropy. We’ve served as Executive Directors, seasoned fundraisers, and Board Members for some of the most respected organizations in the region.
But throughout those years of high-level strategy and board meetings, we never lost sight of why we started: The People.

Because we serve on the boards of the very nonprofits we partner with, we don’t just "send checks" - we understand the infrastructure of help.

"Professionalism ensures the work is done right. Compassion ensures the right work is done. We founded this organization to sit exactly at the intersection of those two truths."
